Age-adjusted D-dimer cut-off levels to rule out DVT: the ADJUST-DVT management outcome study

Although age-adjusted D-dimer thresholds have improved pulmonary embolism diagnosis, their role in evaluating deep vein thrombosis (DVT) remained unproven. In this presentation, Grégoire Le Gal reports results from the ADJUST-DVT study, a prospective multicenter trial conducted across 27 centers. Among more than 3,200 outpatients with suspected DVT, using an age-adjusted D-dimer threshold allowed DVT to be ruled out in a greater number of patients compared to the standard cut-off.
