Landmark study on recurrent VTE and bleeding in cancer patients unveiled at ISTH 2025 and published in European Heart Journal

A new study presented by Dr. Faizan Khan and others at the ISTH 2025 Congress was published simultaneously in the European Heart Journal on June 22. The paper, “Predictors of recurrent venous thromboembolism and bleeding in patients with cancer: a meta-analysis” is available here.

The findings aim to support more personalized treatment decisions by helping clinicians better assess which patients may benefit from extended anticoagulation and which may face greater bleeding risks. The publication represents a significant step toward improving outcomes in this high-risk population. Read more here.
