High risks of recurrent venous thromboembolism and anticoagulant-related major bleeding are found in patients with cancer-associated thrombosis. Kristen Sanfilippo, M.D., M.P.H.S., presents information of a cohort of 11,151 patients with CAT with a variety of malignancies. The study concluded that many traditional and cancer-specific variables are associated with the risk of anticoagulant-related bleeding in patients with cancer. Efforts are highlighted in developing a risk model based on the findings.
