Reflecting on the achievements of 2023 fills me with immense pride for the ISTH and the dedication of our global community to advancing thrombosis and hemostasis research and care.

Together, we have achieved significant milestones and paved the way for improved treatments and outcomes. Throughout the year, the ISTH launched several exciting programs, underscoring our ongoing growth and commitment to innovation. These initiatives stand as a testament to the collaborative efforts of our members worldwide, driving progress and shaping the future of our field.

As my term as ISTH President draws to a close, I am filled with hope and excitement for the future of our organization. The strategic plan and approach finalized during my tenure signifies a significant evolution in how the ISTH plans to affect crucial changes in science and clinical practice. It reflects our commitment to adapt to evolving trends in science and medicine, ensuring that the ISTH remains relevant and impactful in a rapidly changing landscape.

The finalization of our strategic planning process, incorporating voices from stakeholders, the broader thrombosis and hemostasis community, and leadership, along with a detailed needs audit, have paved the way for significant progress. This disciplined approach, coupled with ongoing efforts to enhance operational systems and impact review mechanisms, will empower the ISTH to continue leading transformative scientific discoveries and clinical practices. We are committed to even more focus on fostering the development of young professionals and providing education to physicians, scientists and allied health professionals worldwide.

I invite you to join us in further improving the understanding of thrombosis and hemostasis, shaping a healthier and more equitable world. By embracing novel approaches and staying at the forefront of scientific knowledge and dissemination, we will continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients around the globe.
